Malawi is a tropical, landlocked country in Southern Africa. Thandu is located in a rural, agricultural area in the south of the country.

Children living here face challenges with health, education, child protection and water sanitation. Healthcare services are basic with shortages of many resources and education opportunities for children are limited due to a lack of infrastructure.
