Advocacy and Policy

Influencing the decisions that shape children's lives and futures.

Why we advocate for children around the world

We want children across the globe to reach their full potential. That’s why we work closely with decision-makers to amplify children’s voices, influence policies and improve the systems that affect children’s rights through our research, campaigns and mobilising supporter actions.

Our three pillars of advocacy

Children as the test

World Vision has worked alongside children and communities in the world's most fragile and forgotten places for decades. That experience has given us something valuable: not just evidence of what works, but a clear and honest test of whether any development model is actually doing its job.

Children are that test. Not because they are the only people who matter, but because they are the most honest measure we have.

When a financing framework works, children are safer and healthier. When resilience is built at household level, children don’t go to bed hungry after the next shock. And when a development model fails - when resources stop at the national level, when accountability is weak, when the most excluded are designed out of the solution - it is children who show us this first.

Our impact

In 2025, over 300 million children were impacted through World Vision’s programmes and advocacy.

Amplifying young voices

We work with young activists around the world to create change and campaign for a more sustainable future. By raising children’s voices, we can listen to children on global issues that affect their lives and ensure they are empowered to participate in global discussions.

Our Youth Advocacy Network brings together young people from different contexts, both from the UK and beyond, providing opportunities for members to share their experiences, needs, and solutions with key decision-makers in the UK, and with World Vision UK internally.
