Make it a challenge

Why not challenge yourself and your friends? You can use the NHS app to build up to running your first ever 6k, walk 6k in an orange outfit or walk 6K every day for a week, the challenge is yours! Make it big, make it fun, make it meaningful. The more daring, the more donations you’ll raise for the vulnerable children who desperately need clean water.

Bring your family

It can be fun and rewarding for the whole family, and a great way to have some outdoor fun together whilst raising money for a great cause. Ask us to get fun activities to challenge and motivate the younger ones. Take the opportunity to explore a new area or reward yourself afterwards at your favourite pub.

Walk or run 6 kilometres in a day or set yourself a personal challenge of walking 6 kilometres every day for a week in July.
Six kilometres (or 3.7 miles) is the average distance a person - mostly girls - in developing countries must walk to find water that is often unsafe to drink. By participating in this event, you are walking/running that distance so they won’t have to.
Nearly 1,000 children under age 5 die every day from diarrhoea caused by contaminated water, poor sanitation, and improper hygiene. But we believe the global water and sanitation crisis can be solved within our lifetimes. That’s why we’re focused on providing clean water and sanitation to every man, woman, and child in every community we work in, including the most vulnerable populations in the hardest-to-reach places.
World Vision is the largest non-governmental provider of clean water in the world and our water projects run in harmony with our other key areas of development: health, education, food, and economic development. This approach to clean water tackles the root causes of poverty, enabling children to experience fullness of life.

Your donations will help us bring clean water to children and their communities living in some of the toughest places on earth. You will help to bring a future full of hope to children around the world. And here is a taste of how your donations help, bringing water to where it is needed most.

Yes! Your team leader will need to send email to fundraising@worldvision.org.uk with the name of all team members (specifying who is the team captain).
If you're a beginner at walking or running we encourage you to use the NHS fitness apps to get you ready for your 6K. Join our Facebook community for more resources.
You will receive your Global 6k t-shirt when you make your first donation via your JustGiving page or by phoning our Supporter Care Team. Once you raise £150 we will send you your World Vision goodie.
