People search for survivors amongst collapsed buildings

URGENT: VENEZUELA EARTHQUAKE APPEAL

A devastating earthquake means children are fighting for survival.

Children in Venezuela urgently need your help

Two powerful earthquakes struck Venezuela on 24 June, just after 18:00 local time (23:00 BST). A magnitude 7.2 was followed seconds later by a 7.5. Buildings have collapsed. Families are sleeping in the streets, too afraid to go home. And children are caught in the middle of it all.

Right now, rescue teams are urgently searching through rubble in Caracas and beyond. Hospitals are overwhelmed. Power and gas have been cut off to entire neighbourhoods. With aftershocks still coming, families have nowhere safe to turn.

Tragically, the death toll is rising. The full scale of the destruction is still unfolding.

Please donate today to help get critical life-saving support to children and families in Venezuela.

How your donation helps

Imagine being a child as the ground shook and buildings collapsed on Wednesday evening. That was the frightening reality for children across Venezuela. When the shaking stopped, homes were destroyed or left badly damaged, forcing families to sleep out on the streets.

We have been working in Venezuela since 2019. We're already on the ground, assessing the damage, identifying the children and families who need help most urgently.

But we can't reach everyone without your support.

Children urgently need medical support, food and clean water. And someone to tell them it’s going to be ok. Your donation will put emergency supplies into the hands of families who’ve lost everything. It reaches children sleeping outside, too afraid to go home. And it means our teams can keep going further, faster, to get help to those who need it.

Your donation today will help provide emergency food, clean water, safe shelter, and vital support for children's wellbeing as they face the trauma of what's happened.

Please give what you can today.

We pray for every child and family facing fear and uncertainty today. Our team is on the ground assessing how to support the communities hardest hit.
