The prolonged war in Ukraine continues to have a devastating impact on the wellbeing and survival of an entire generation of children.

Today, one in three children requires humanitarian assistance. Sustained exposure to violence, displacement, family separation and the erosion of essential services continues to shape their daily lives.

Renewed and intensified attacks have driven additional waves of displacement. Currently, more than 3.4 million people - 80% of whom are women and children - are displaced within the country.

Children are struggling to access the basic needs every child deserves, and are deprived of their rights to safety, education, health and a home.

over 291,000 children being able to continue their education, helping them to find normality in the trials of conflict.

How we work in emergencies

When emergencies hit, children are often the most at risk. That’s why we need to be there – in places torn apart by disasters and conflict.

We respond all over the world

During 2025, we helped over 35 million people in emergencies - including 18 million children. We respond to humanitarian crises, caused by conflict as well as natural disasters, in 70 different countries.

We’re one of the first organisations to respond when an emergency strikes. Within 72 hours of a disaster, we can deliver lifesaving supplies anywhere in the world – often even sooner.
