Two years of unrelenting war in Ukraine has brought unimaginable suffering and pain to tens of millions of Ukrainians, including the country’s 7.5 million children. To date, the conflict has displaced over 3.7 million Ukrainians within Ukraine and more than 6 million are seeking refuge in neighbouring European countries.

The need is still great and issues of mental health, child protection, and education, among others, are massive involving millions of children and the most vulnerable.

The UN estimates that over 17.6 million people in Ukraine are still in urgent need of humanitarian assistance.

Your generosity means that children can continue to get an education, emotional support, and the chance to have fun together.

That’s why we’re asking for your support to continue saving lives and protecting children. We’re still working with our partners in Ukraine and in neighbouring countries, responding to the urgent needs of children and families who have been forced to flee their homes and are still unable to return.

Because of you, we've been able to distribute over 310,000 hygiene kits, keeping children and families safe from disease. Another 108,000 people have benefited from psychological support, helping them recover and rebuild their lives. And over quarter of a million children have been able to continue their education, helping them to find normality in the trials of conflict.

How we work in emergencies

When emergencies hit, children are often the most at risk. That’s why we need to be there – in places torn apart by disasters and conflict.

We respond all over the world

During 2023, we helped over 36 million people in emergencies - including over 18 million children. We respond to humanitarian crises caused by conflict as well as natural disasters.

We’re one of the first organisations on the ground when an emergency strikes. Within 72 hours of a disaster, we can deliver lifesaving supplies anywhere in the world – often even sooner.
