World Vision UK Chief Executive calls for “a world where every child knows only peace”
Press Release, London, Dec 15, 2023 - Fola Komolafe MBE DL, World Vision UK Chief Executive, has called for a global focus on peace and prioritising children amidst the ongoing Middle East Crisis and conflicts across the world.
“As many around the world are gearing up to commemorate the birth of Christ, the Prince of Peace, may we seek to embrace this period of hope and understanding to amplify Christ’s message of love and peace for all of humankind. World Vision UK extends a call to global leaders, urging them to set aside differences and collectively acknowledge our common humanity and the need to act to make the world a better place for every child.
“Unfortunately, children have endured the adverse consequences of adults' decisions for far too long. It is our heartfelt plea that world leaders end this cycle of violence and actively strive towards nurturing a generation of children acquainted solely with peace, fostering the construction of a world steeped in tranquillity. No child should endure the crucible of conflict and acts of terror. Global and lasting peace is within reach everywhere if there is strong will and committed leadership to make it a reality.”
World Vision UK is currently supporting vulnerable children across the Middle East by responding to urgent family needs, creating safe spaces, and providing psychological services. We are also responding in 100 countries across the world, many where displaced children will need help and hope this Christmas. But above all, our prayer is for peace on earth.
