Daniel Sylvanis Jones’ dream was to visit Africa and to see first-hand how his fellow farmers did their work on a continent full of contrasts and so very different from his native Wales. Sadly, Daniel’s dream never materialised during his life time.
But his adoring family had an idea how to honour the memory of their beloved husband and father; instead of flowers at the funeral they collected £500 for World Vision UK for a farming project.
And so, in Daniel’s memory we are planting an orchard of fruit trees in Zambia. They’ll grow lemons, oranges, mangos, avocadoes and more, and will feed children and their families for many years to come. In time the surplus will also provide a source of income for the whole community. Beautiful, isn’t it?
And it works both ways, as a real comfort in the Jones family’s time of grief and, as a vital help for growing children in Zambia.
