Hello, my name is Tahoshina Maya Moni
Sponsor Tahoshina Maya Moni
Gender: girl | My age: 7 |
My home: Ghoraghat, Bangladesh
My birthday is on the 5th April. My favourite game is playing with dolls. In Ghoraghat life is hard for children like me. But sponsor me today and you can change my world for good.
I live in Ghoraghat, Bangladesh
I live in a village the north of Bangladesh. Growing up here, we face sickness, hunger and malnutrition.
Change my world today
Life is hard for me, but your child sponsorship will change my life and bring me hope. Here’s where your money will go:
We can't afford basic healthcare and live in fear of sickness and disease.
Your sponsorship will vaccinate children and train health workers to treat them when sick.
We struggle to grow enough food to eat, leaving us hungry and malnourished.
Your sponsorship will provide training, tools and seeds to help families feed themselves.
We live in poverty and struggle to afford essentials like books and school uniform.
Your support will provide livestock that families can breed to earn a living.

World Vision is the world’s largest, international children’s charity. We have over 60 years’ experience working with parents and communities to improve the lives of their children. Our organisation upholds the highest levels of transparency and accountability. We build relationships, trust and give families the tools to help themselves and future generations. But this work takes time, effort and commitment. Our programmes within a community usually last for 10 to 15 years.
The impact of child-focused community development is long-lasting and along the way children’s health improves, communities become more resilient and families gain hope.
£26 per month is what it costs for us to do this well. And it works.
We work with national governments and other international agencies to identify the regions and communities that are most in need; the hardest places where the most vulnerable children live. We meet with community leaders and the wider community to understand their challenges and opportunities, and we develop a long-term plan together, to break the cycle of poverty.
The donation you give does not go directly to your sponsored child or family. That's because experience has taught us it’s more effective to use the money on projects that will benefit your child’s whole community, at the same time improving their personal wellbeing.
When you sponsor a child, you can write to each other, and you’ll have regular news from their community. The relationship could change both your lives. "I am so happy to have a friend in another country that I can write to and share pictures with," says Nareh from Armenia. “I am studying the Armenian alphabet. When I learn them all, I will teach them to my distant friend. I am so happy to have a friend in another country.”
It costs £26 a month to sponsor a child. As well as supporting their education, health and nutrition, your gift will improve the lives of their community. It’s possible to give more if you wish and you can send letters, cards and small gifts to your child too.
You can sponsor a child by signing up securely online. You will be asked to provide your contact details and direct debit payment information. The sponsorship donation will be debited from your account each month on a date of your choosing. Once you've signed up, you will be invited to the My Sponsorship portal where you can manage your sponsorship, send letters to your child, meet other sponsors and more.
