Global Future is World Vision International's journal of human development and a primary World Vision vehicle for promoting debate on key development issues. It seeks to provide development policy makers, practitioners and opinion formers with substantive, innovative and challenging insights on issues that affect people living in poverty.
We seek articles that highlight the linkages between global policy issues and the lives of poor children and communities, and that focus on constructive solutions rather than simply diagnosis of problems.
Past contributors to the journal have included: Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, former UK Secretary of State for International Development the Rt Hon. Hilary Benn, former UNICEF Executive Director Carol Bellamy, former UN Secretary General's Chief-of-Staff Mark Malloch Brown, Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, former World Bank President James Wolfensohn, economist Dr Jeffrey Sachs, environmental activist Dr Vandana Shiva, and economic activist Dr Martin Khor.
Past themes have included: globalisation and the developing world, ending violence against children, financing for development, Africa's future, HIV and AIDS, preventing violent conflict, micro- and macro- economic development, the links between human rights and development, and humanitarianism in the 21st century.
