Our Office Building

World Vision UK currently sources its paper from sustainable forestry sources and recycles plastic, paper, cardboard, aluminum, tins and print toner cartridges. Within the office staff are encouraged to reuse, recycle, use conference calling and web-based conference solutions and car share to travel to work.The office will soon be installed with facilities to do video conferencing in order to reduce the number of international flights necessary. We are members of the Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes Green Business Network and environmental considerations have been an important factor in our office management and refurbishment works, as well as in future plans for the re-design and use of the building.

An environmental audit is just being concluded with the aim of identifying further ways that we can improve our environmental performance.

The environment is one of six factors considered when planning activities within our programmes. We are committed to sustainable development which benefits both the communities and the environment they live in and depend on.

Policy Work

Climate Change is not one of our specialist policy areas but we recognise its importance as a significant issue facing the poor communities that we work with. As we do not have in-house expertise at present we aim to work with those who are specialists through coalitions and groups. We are a member of Up in Smoke, a working group on climate change and development
