World Vision has always responded to humanitarian crisis around the world but now we are also working to address the structural causes of disasters. While the immediate causes of humanitarian crises are often clear – the underlying reasons for these fragile contexts are often not as obvious. Understanding these causes is key to improving the lives of the world’s poorest children. That’s why World Vision is working to raise awareness amongst Parliamentarians about the need to address these structural issues in order to better equip communities to prevent and respond to humanitarian crises in the future.
