FINISH THE JOB

Ask your MP to act on child health

FTJ AUGUST 2010

Our Finish the Job campaign, part of out global Child Health Now campaign that aims to save the lives of 6 million children every year, has been picking up speed over the last few months.

Already more than 3,000 of you have added your name to the petition and now we need you to call on your MP to help Finish the Job for Child Health.

The campaign is calling on world leaders not to leave a job half done. They must keep their promise to reduce child deaths by two thirds.

They have a vitally important opportunity this September. The UN Millenium Goals summit in New York will review progress on the eight goals set by world leaders to halve global poverty by 2015. Many of these goals are way off track.

Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg (who is standing in for the PM as he awaits the birth of his new child) will be attending the summit. It is crucial that he uses this oppotunity to take real and decisive action to reduce child deaths.

Before he departs for New York we must convey a powerful message to the Deputy PM that the UK public desperately want the UK government to finish the job - and save the lives of millions of children.

Encourage your MP to put pressure on the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister to take real and decisive action at the summit
