World Vision has held its first Week for Children, aiming to find new sponsors for children living in some of the world’s poorest countries.
The organisation teamed up with Channel Five, who showed a series of special reports in their evening news bulletins during the week beginning 8 June.
Focusing on health, and specifically the five main killers of under-fives, the reports highlighted the issue of the nine million children who die each year from preventable illnesses.
The reports also showed the positive difference that sponsorship can make for children living in developing countries.
World Vision aimed to attract 5,000 new sponsors during the Week for Children.
