Fresh materials for your Harvest celebration

The chef Jamie Oliver recently demonstrated that poor quality, processed school dinners in the UK were causing a deterioration to children’s health and a loss of concentration in lessons, leading to under-achievement.

The same is true of inadequate quality and quantity of food the world over. If people don’t have enough nutritious food to eat, they are left feeling weak and lethargic, reducing their ability to work. If they are too weak to work, they are unable to afford food that is nutritious – and the cycle of hunger and poverty continues.

It doesn’t have to be like this. The world produces around 300kg of grain per person per year – enough to feed everyone if the food were shared equally and used efficiently.

Our new Food not Famine pack takes a biblical look at these important issues and it’s available free of charge for you to use in your church or small group.
