Family incomes

No child should be shackled by poverty.

Ending the cycle of poverty

Wherever they’re growing up, extreme poverty is devastating for children's development. We work with families to break the cycle of poverty so that the most vulnerable children can reach their full potential. Our work addresses the underlying causes of child poverty: food insecurity, vulnerability to climatic events, and lack of access to markets and financial services.

Training and small loans, as well as tools and resources to build self-reliance are key to helping hard-working people leave poverty behind. With our unique community-based model, refined and expanded over our 70-year history, we’re able to offer the hand up that people need to get — and stay — on their feet.

Every 60 seconds a family receives the tools to overcome poverty.

Supporting families to provide

We help families build knowledge, skills and resources to support themselves.

In a world where 1 in 9 people don’t have enough food to eat, you can:

Sponsor a child today, improve their life forever

Together, we've supported people and communities to work their way out of poverty, disasters and exploitation across the world. In 2021 this support reached more than 4 million people, including over 2 million children, by tackling the root causes of poverty.
