Do you have a selection of projects that I could choose from?
Yes! We have a range of projects around the world dealing with all aspects of World Vision’s work and we will work with you to find a suitable one.
Do I have to give a certain amount of money?
The Major Giving team specifically deals with any donor who would like to give a donation of £10,000 or more. Whether you would like to make an ongoing contribution or would like to share a windfall, we would love to work with you.
If you would like to make a large donation of up to £10,000, then please contact our Supporter Care team on 01908 841010 and they will be happy to discuss this with you.
How can I be sure my money gets through to those who need it?
World Vision only works within countries where we have our own offices; this way we ensure that none of our funding is handled by any third parties. We are able to account fully for all the money that we receive, and have audited accounts that are publically available at any time.
As a UK charity, we are regulated by the Charities Commission - a legal body which oversees all UK charities and their activities. We are not a profit-making organisation, and we know that the continued support we receive is dependant on our efficient use of supporters’ money. Our Annual Report is available to anyone who requests it.
Will you let me know how my support is making a difference?
We will update you regularly on the project’s progress. Our reports will include all the details of where the work is at and photos so that you can see what is happening for yourself.
Will I hear from the people that the project has helped?
As part of our regular reports to you, we include testimonials from people that you have helped to support. We will also provide photos of the project and the people it has benefited.
Can I visit the project I have helped to support?
Yes! We are happy to accompany Key Supporters out to see the work that they have supported. This year, we have been with donors to see work in Ethiopia and Cambodia. There is nothing like seeing the work for yourself. Read Sam’s story about his trip to Cambodia.
We hope that our website has given you a good idea of how we work. If you have any further questions then please do not hesitate to contact Mary.
