Philanthropic Donations

World Vision believes in helping children to live life ‘in all its fullness’, including those growing up in some of the poorest countries in the world. While sponsoring a child allows this to happen one child at a time, investing in one of World Vision’s philanthropy projects allows you to transform the lives of hundreds, or even thousands, of children. Mary Smith and the team will be happy to help you, if you're interested in making a donation. Call Mary on 01908 244 432 or you can email Mary here.

Working together to make a difference

We work alongside our supporters - balancing the needs of the villages and communities which we work in with your needs as a donor. We like to provide insight into the life-changing difference your money makes, but are equally happy to simply acknowledge donations where preferred.

How you can give - choose where your money goes

Individual donations can be either made as a one-off, or spread over a period of 3-5 years, which enables us to plan for the future. For supporters who want to donate with friends and colleagues, they can coordinate group gifts, ensuring their efforts are maximised for optimum effect.

If you are able to give £10,000 or more, you might find one of our special projects a particularly rewarding method of donating. Click on the 'Projects for funding' button on the right to see some examples of our work - here, you can choose a project by country (perhaps where you sponsor a child) or choose an issue that interests you.

Matched funding - making donations go further

We often have grants made for individual projects by government bodies (EU, DFID UN) where they agree to match supporter donations, increasing the value of your support even further! Last year we were able to secure over £23 million worth of institutional grants by matching just over £3 million worth of donations from our own supporters.

Seeing the impact you've made

We welcome and encourage meaningful engagement from our key supporters. Each donor has the opportunity to learn about the benefits and understand the challenges of development. You will receive a report after six months, and again an update six months thereafter of the progress and impact of your gift, and have the opportunity to visit the children and families whose lives you have helped change. We will also introduce you to our local staff and senior management in the field.

Our service

Whether you have a windfall you would like to share or wish to offer substantial help on a regular basis, we would love to work with you and help match your donation to where it can have the maximum impact for the world's poorest children.
We tailor our service to the needs of each supporter, working with you to understand how you can best support us and keeping you updated on the progress of your project. However, there is no better feedback than to see it for yourself!

If you would like to know more about supporting us in this way then please contact Mary Smith in the Philanthropy Team on 01908 244 432, or you can email Mary here.
