Information for child sponsors

Call 01908 841060 to find out more

If you’re currently a child sponsor, you can help us to continue supporting the world’s poorest children after your death.

Please be reassured that World Vision would never leave a child unsupported. If a sponsor passes away, we’ll continue to support the child until a new sponsor is found. So you don’t need to worry.

We don’t encourage sponsors to leave a gift direct to their sponsored child, as children and their families may leave the area and no longer be participating in the programme.
World Vision also discourages sponsors from naming an individual child in their will because this could create feelings of jealousy within the community.

We’re grateful for child sponsorship and the life-changing difference it makes. But the best way to remember World Vision in your will is to allow us to use your gift wherever the need is greatest, anywhere in the world. It’s important that we have the flexibility to respond to future challenges.

Alternatively, you could direct your gift to an area of our work that you are interested in such as child health or education. In this way, you’ll impact entire communities and generations of children.

It is possible to leave the money needed for your sponsorship to continue but while this would mean your child is looked after, it also means they’d miss out on a personal relationship with their sponsor. However, if this is something you feel really passionate about, we can help you to fulfill this wish, as long as it’s worded very carefully in your will. You can download the recommended  wording for your solicitor here.
