World Vision works alongside some of the world’s poorest communities to help them to identify their development needs. Most of our range of individual projects, (many of which are supported by Trusts and Foundations), contribute to the work of our integrated Area Development Programmes or ADPs, and vary from large-scale, multi-sectoral projects, to smaller activities designed to meet specific needs in local communities. Our ADPs operate within a defined area at the invitation of local communities, and with their full collaboration and participation, typically benefiting between 50-100,000 people, and working for up to 15 years.
As a child-focussed development agency, we seek to address sustainably the basic and development needs of communities. All of our project work is managed in accordance with comprehensive monitoring, evaluation and learning procedures, which ensure the quality of the work. The programmes do not conclude until a final ‘transition’ phase is successfully completed, through which it is established that the local community is capable of sustaining and taking ownership of all the work which has taken place, and continuing to develop independently.
We offer a high standard of care and attention to those Charitable Trusts who make contact with us, and can provide detailed proposals for projects that you may be interested in, together with full and timely reports on projects which have been funded.
We are also delighted when we have the opportunity to enter into a relationship with Administrators and Trustees, and we can often arrange visits to see our overseas work, and the transformation which World Vision and Charitable Trusts are able to bring about, at first hand.
Working together, Charitable Trusts and Foundations in the UK and World Vision make a real difference to the lives of people around the world.
