What information does World Vision collect?

World Vision does not collect any personal information from visitors to its website other than information that is knowingly and voluntarily given. This personal data is stored in-house on our secured computerised systems to enable us to respond to your requests and maintain your membership as a World Vision supporter. Anonymous information is collected, such as the number of visitors to the website in a given period, but it is purely statistical and cannot be used to identify an individual user.

How secure is the information that is collected and stored?

World Vision will always endeavour to protect your data from loss, misuse, unauthorised access or disclosure, alteration or destruction. We fully understand the concerns people may have about releasing personal details over the internet. We are committed to investing in technology to provide security for your information, including working with leading suppliers of secure payment services.

How do you make sure that online transactions are safe?

Any transactions that are made through the World Vision website are made through a secure server by WorldPay.com, or NEOVIA Financial Plc, and use multi-level encryption to ensure security and safety.

How is my information used?

World Vision will only use your information to the extent that you allow us to. If you have given World Vision specific instructions on how you wish us to contact you, we will do our upmost to respect your request. We never sell or pass on your details to any third party for marketing purposes. Your details will only be made known outside the World Vision partnership – including outside the European Economic Area – where we use other organisations to carry out work on our behalf such as fulfilling orders, processing mailings, or analysing data. As a UK based charity, World Vision is committed to, and bound by the Data Protection Act 1998. Your statutory rights are not affected.
